Making the most of the intimate gatherings we can have (between lockdowns) …

Coral & Co. was very proudly created during 2020, right when the world was flipped upside down, and though it has been a challenging couple of years for everyone, we have continued to work hard to provide our clients with those Insta-worthy memorable moments – whenever we can.

With an ever-changing world full of pesky rules and restrictions, we have collectively adapted our approach to celebrations, and changed the way we drink to those big and small events with our family and friends. Whilst we may not yet be able to invite 50 of our nearest and dearest over for a party, we can certainly make the most of the intimate gatherings we can have (between lockdowns) and continue to create truly special moments.

Enter: The Humble Dinner Party.

We take every opportunity to forge wonderful memories, and continue to spread positivity and celebrate success in our stride, so of course it was time to have our very own 1st Birthday Party, and reflect on our first year as Coral & Co. A dinner for four, hosted in a beautifully cosy home setting, we opted to keep things minimal, muted and  modern. We worked with an array of talented suppliers who made this dinner party just right for the occasion.

Beginning the quiet celebration in a more sophisticated sit-down style meal, an exquisite collection of candles, vases, cutlery, stationary and florals were perfectly styled in our signature Coral & Co. way, to create a dreamy and calming ambience.

All images were captured by the wonderful Susie from Light Gloss, who is known for her premium and perfectly moody editing. A table setting with white florals, lined table cloth and dark cutlery and glasses.

A table setting with white florals in the background, next two two candles, both cream and not alight. One wavey and the other shorter and round. A crisp white menu with a cream bow sits on a napkin and plate. An at home dinner setting in Melbourne.
Florals were provided by our neighbours Blossom Fleur, a Parisian style florist located in Hawthorn’s Auburn Village. Peonies en masse meant soft texture and sophistication, with sculptural arrangements and single-stem flowers led the eye to several stunning focal points.

A flower stem jolts out from the main floral setting. Bright white petals sit against a cream wall, on a linen table cloth. A non-lit candle on the table next o the florals. Coral & Co.

The divine candles from Aacute added a unique point of difference and texture to the table setting. Pillar candles, rolly polly and squiggly candles were featured and a clear standout favourite amongst the guests.

Complimenting tones and shades ran through all elements of the event, even the table linen! With their excellent selection of colours and materials, we knew we could count on .Cloth & Confetti Events to have the perfect linen and napkins to pair with our palette.Giant slabs of Turkish Travertine sat pretty on the table, with it’s waves of grey and beige veins and naturally occurring holes and troughs, a stone that is synonymous with sophisticated design. Sitting alongside their contrasting dark and dipped cutlery, added the perfect blend of minimal luxe. As the perfectionists that we are, we spent a good time mixing and matching different setting options before deciding the final look.

Saving the best part of any dinner party for last, let’s talk desserts. Minimal themes in the dessert world (when done right), can be truly beautiful and eye-catching - as demonstrated by the talent and intricate details of the desserts made by The Tastery Kitchen. All dessert designed incorporated the ivory, light caramel and neutral tones, and the addition of the gold leaf gave that extra finesse! A decadent spread of mumbles, mini cakes and floral fondant cookies were all part of the delicious dessert spread. They *almost* looked too good to eat!Korean Cakes are the new minimalist trend, so it made sense to add one of these sweet little delights to the table. There are only a select few Korean cake bakers in Melbourne, but luckily we had Meansalot Cake on hand to finish our dessert station off with a simple, yet scrumptious Korean style cake. The vanilla sponge featured light caramel writing and beautiful pearls.
