Plan an incredible & intimate event for someone you love

Spoil a loved one with the gift of an event they’ll never forget

Are you embarking on the seemingly selfless yet potentially *slightly stressful* task of planning an event for someone you love? We know this can be a big task for anyone – especially when you throw in the added pressure of a milestone occasion that needs to be remembered.

From themes and colour palettes, menus, florals and signage to choosing the right venue plus catering, it can be a lot of work bringing your event ideas to fruition. That’s where we come in.

Give us your brief or ideas, and let the team at Coral & Co Events take care of the rest.

You have the event booked, now it is time to perfect the details.

We were delighted to be contacted recently by our client Shen Lin’s doting father, who wanted to elevate every single detail of his daughter’s upcoming 30th birthday party. While Shen Lin knew about the event from the beginning – she had no idea her dad was enlisting us to help take her birthday celebration dinner from something lovely, to something truly fabulous and memorable. We were so excited to surprise Shen Lin with a stunning soiree.

Upon our initial consultation, we picked up some key ideas from her dad that would carry through to every aspect of the styling we organised. We could clearly see he wanted to have a darker colour palette, presumably to match the moody ambience of the venue they had already booked – the exquisite Vue de Monde, found on the 55th floor of Melbourne’s towering Rialto building. Vue de Monde exudes opulence and sophistication with an offering of fine dining by chef Shannon Bennett, and breathtaking views of the city.

We went over a few options and landed on a red colour palette with touches of maroon and burgundy, knowing this would best complement the luxurious interior of Vue de Monde. From here, it was time for the fun to begin as we planned our signature Coral & Co chic styling for Shen Lin’s 30th birthday.

Free reign for show-stopping styling and seamless execution

When a client gives us their trust and free reign – as Shen Lin’s father kindly did – this is when our creativity comes alive. We are able to seek the inspiration ourselves, and gather imagery and ideas that we believe will best showcase the venue, the person being celebrated, and of course, the event.

We know a 30th birthday is not something small. It is a moment in your life that heralds your adult status with measured indulgence – in other words, it is a milestone well and truly worth celebrating.

Combining the predetermined aesthetic of moody, red monochrome and the classy Vue de Monde, we called upon our trusted suppliers to amplify our vision.

A touch of luxe

The colour scheme for this 30th birthday spoke of a coming of age, and entering the 3rd decade of life. It was imperative that we had a clear and consistent style brief for each of our suppliers, so each stylistic component would flow seamlessly to the next – looking as if everything matched and complimented the overall setting.

We worked with the team at Rose Studios to organise fabulous florals in deep reds and blush tones. The florals – as always – stood out in the venue, with arrangements flowing along the table, at the drink station by the bar, dotted throughout the balloons and at the base of the cake plinth.

The tables were set with classy candles in alternating heights and more touches of red were incorporated with the napkins – courtesy of Table Art Event Hire.

The immaculate signage and personalised menus featuring more scalloped details were designed and made by the talented Lauren Skorsis. The guests took it a step further with Lauren’s glittery drink tags – they were able to take these with them to the next venue of the night – The George on Collins – and used the tags as exclusive tokens to gain entry into their VIP area – we were obsessed with this detail!

A stunning yet elegantly simple 2-tier red velvet cake made by Sir Sour sat atop a scalloped plinth from the Big Letter Co. The Big Letter Co also provided the large light up 3-0 positioned nearby.

A knockout balloon backdrop was created by Blowout Balloons – the perfect spot for photos. The balloons were again used at the welcome sign to create an effortless flow of styling.

The event was captured by talented photographer Light Gloss, because a night this beautiful needed to be well documented. The photographer was able to encapsulate the ambience of Vue de Monde that was enhanced by our signature styling, as well as the love in the room shared amongst the guests for Shen Lin.

Allow us to help with your next soiree – be it for you, or someone special.

Being an event planner and stylist requires expert knowledge of trends and time-management, as well as where to find the right people who can help. Most importantly, we must ensure the bump-in on the day is seamless – delivering a final result that will impress every guest who walks through the door.

We pride ourselves on our immaculate organisation and supplier sourcing – it is the reason we know we can be present for bump-in where required, and when we aren’t (such as for this 30th birthday, for example), we have every understanding the styling will go off without a hitch, as our thorough communication between ourselves, suppliers and venue staff is second to none. We leave no detail out, and it is not in our nature to do things by halves.

Shen Lin’s dad took all of the stress away from himself when he contacted us. Seeing our previous work, he was confident in our skills – we believe rightfully so 😉 – and was able to throw a classy 30th birthday party for his wonderful daughter. We were so moved by his show of love and pride, and it was a privilege to be the ones to create the magic.

We would love to help with your upcoming event, as we don’t just stop at birthday dinners in iconic Melbourne restaurants. We have worked on countless photoshoots and brand launches, plus styling for engagement parties, weddings, hens parties and christenings. Allow us to take the reins and create memorable and meaningful moments for you and your loved ones.
