Sometimes you might just need a little guidance on how to create and style your dream event. So, how about you bring the vision, and we’ll bring the expert advice on how to put it all together? Sounds good to us.
When our friend and uber talented makeup artist Carla Dyson came to us asking for advice to plan the launch event of her new company The Creative Directory, we jumped at the opportunity to bring what we knew would be a chic result to life.
Carla was after our guidance – not only do we offer event styling and planning from concept to creation, we also offer event planning consultations – which may be all you need to get the inspiration flowing.
What exactly is an event planning consultation?
Let’s break it down.
For the brand launch, Carla had the ideas, but was juggling so many components in the lead up to the event that she needed a little nudge in the right direction and assistance with sourcing the details to get everything in motion. That’s where we come in.
Our consultation sessions are run in 30-minute sessions. We will sit down with you and cover off the basics for your event:
Essentially, the first consultation is a chance for you to pick an event expert’s brain, ask any questions and work out the next steps.
From here, if you are feeling confident and inspired we can leave the rest to you, but more often than not we continue to work with you, get down to business and begin to source suppliers for you and get the party-planning ball rolling.
We know you’re busy, and you know we have an extensive list of talented creatives and suppliers at our disposal. We are able to match-make (if you will) the right person for your vision and take a lotttt of stress away from you in the lead up to your event.
Coral & Co. Events + your ideas +killer suppliers = an unforgettable event.
Following our initial meeting, Carla trusted us with sourcing suppliers, and we worked closely to discuss the finer details as we went. From the first consultation we knew Carla wanted her launch to reflect her brand colours of coffee, almond, cream, chocolate and nude hues, as well as incorporate a Euro feel as her brand offers international makeup services in the enviable European summer (!!)
The event was held in South Melbourne at Golden Fleece Hotel, which lent a hand to the Euro vibe before we even got started, with a contemporary rooftop area designed to mimic the gorgeous Greek Islands.
It’s all about the details.
The venue was chosen, the mood board was created, the theme and colour palette was set, and we were on our way. We put together a dream team and created a luxe and elegant launch for Carla and The Creative Directory.
Elle Creative Studio created brown frost acrylic details to stand out from the crowd, which in turn offered a touch of luxury and softness to the setting. Unique drink tags and table signage added subtle personalisation and ensured the theme flowed in every aspect.
For florals, the colour palette was perfectly encapsulated by Rose Studios. We were utterly in-awe of the modern and contemporary floral arrangements, which incorporated stunning toffee roses and white baby’s breath to create a dreamy feel. Rather than adding dried florals the focus was on elegance and simplicity, to tie in with the venue and keep the overall look clean and stylish.
The smallest assets can have the biggest impact. We loved the minimal and chic vases provided by The Bridal Aesthetic, paired beautifully with the candles and votives from The Hire Co. and we know the guests couldn’t get enough of the delicious personalised cookies from Cookies and Crumbs Melbourne.
These details were so simple in theory, but they added the extra oomph that made guests stop and stare, and snap a few pics to share on socials – and with a guest list consisting of makeup artists, hair stylists, fashion stylists, models and social media personalities, we had a feeling these luxe details were going to be appreciated and popping up on our feed. We love to see it.
In the age of social media, no event is complete without a cohort of well-dressed creatives and influencers in attendance. TCD’s launch event had many beautiful and stylish women in attendance, including Luci Levant, Charlize Wright, Sarah Burns, alongside makeup artists like Jack Cail, Stella Tu, Stylists Simone Farrugia and Carlos Mangubat, and Carla Lawson Hair Extensions.
This event shows how little or how much we can be involved in your event. You may need us for the initial ideation, guidance with budgets and timelines or contacting the suppliers. You may need us there on the day putting it all together, or you may just need us for friendly advice and making sure the florals show up.
Our consultation fees can be a one-off, or taken off a total package price if we continue to work together and make beautiful things happen. We pride ourselves on our flexibility and ability to meet you in the middle (or wherever you need us), and at the bare minimum be a helping hand throughout the planning stages.
We know who to call for the florals, the cakes, the food, the drink tags, the balloon installations, the personalised menus and welcome signage and everything in between. Whatever you’re dreaming up, chances are we have someone on speed dial who can get the job done.
Get in touch to find out more about our event styling consultations, we’d love to chat with you.
