When the iconic team at Glasshouse Fragrances came to us with the brief for their anniversary, they were looking for a celebration as bold, bright, and show-stopping as their candles. The challenge was to do more than just style an event; it was to find a way to tell a story and take every one of the 300 guests along for the ride. For a brand that has spent two decades transcending people to new destinations through scent, the solution had to be equally as transportive. This is how a milestone was turned into an immersive, first-class experience.
The team at Glasshouse Fragrances came to us with a clear vision: a celebration that would honour their 20-year legacy and create a show-stopping moment. They needed a strategic partner to guide them through every step, from finding the perfect venue to bringing their vibrant brand to life, all while managing the logistics with precision and an unshakeable sense of calm. The brand’s milestones and bold, evocative scents were the heart of their story; the task was to give that story an unforgettable stage.
Every great event starts with a powerful narrative. We conceptualised the night as a first-class journey, Glasshouse Airlines: Flight GF20. A seamless experience was designed, where every detail, from the very first touchpoint, was part of the story. The journey began with a GIF email invite, featuring a golden cloud swooping across the sky, and was followed by a personal video invitation from founder Nicole Eckels, recorded on board a first-class lounge. The immersive experience had officially commenced.
The night began at a custom-built check-in desk, where guests were handed their boarding passes before being guided to the lift. As they ascended, they were greeted by a personalised airline announcement from the founder herself, perfectly timed to their arrival on the main floor. The doors opened to a mirrored hallway, transformed into a real-life airport boarding gate. Each mirror showcased a milestone year in the brand’s history, with original artefacts and memories. It was an experiential journey that led guests to the grand reveal: the main venue, where a grand media wall framed by life-size Glasshouse Fragrances candle boxes created a sky scene, ready for a photo before the journey truly began.
The event was a masterclass in engaging every sense. On the outdoor deck, 400 of the brand’s iconic Tahaa Affair candles were placed on mirrored plinths. The warm, caramel glow of the candles reflected beautifully off the surfaces, creating a floating effect and ensuring the fragrance could be smelled from the moment guests stepped out of the lift. At the bar, a beautiful and bold floral arrangement framed the back shelves, which were stacked with a rainbow of Glasshouse Fragrances boxes. The dancefloor featured a black gloss finish that mirrored a custom-suspended LED light installation above, so the brand was literally full-encompassing all night long.
The food and beverage experience was a story in itself. We wove the event’s destinations into the menu, with interactive stations that delighted guests. A pasta bar featured a chef making fresh pasta in a massive Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese wheel, and a seafood station was overflowing with fresh prawns and oysters.
The real show began as guests were transported to three unique destinations through surprise entertainment, with each one timed perfectly to a scent and its story. The atmosphere of suspense was palpable as all 300 guests flocked to the dancefloor, ready for each reveal.
The DJ, who also played the saxophone and bongo drums, created a dynamic, interactive dancefloor. The guests were so invested in the journey that they cheered for one more song at the end of the night, a sure sign of a successful event.
The event was a triumph, a year in the making, executed by Coral & the CORAL & CO. team. From the creative concept to the seamless on-the-day execution, the entire process was a testament to how an end-to-end partnership can bring a bold vision to life. As Nicole Eckels herself said as she entered the venue, “OMG wow! I couldn’t have planned this better myself.”
