As 2023 drew to a close, many people began to wind down and wrap up their year quietly. For some, the Christmas break is the perfect time to take a little rest from the chaos of another year full of life, and all the fun that comes with it. 

We weren’t that chill.

We may have taken a small break from curating the perfect plans for our elevated events, but that’s only because we were busy bees working behind the scenes, putting the sparkly and shining finishing touches on something new, something exciting, and something that we are beyond excited to finally share with you all.

WELCOME TO 2024, AND A NEW LOOK FOR CORAL & CO. EVENTS

Coming in hot with an updated tagline for the new year: ‘The home of Pinterest-Worthy events, for those who appreciate the finer details’, we knew it was time to take our business to new heights, so we stripped it back and created a new vision for our brand. 

We have been at this party planning fun for four years now, starting from humble beginnings as an Instagram account to share party and event inspo during Melbourne’s Covid lockdowns – when said parties were a thing of longing and imagination.

As soon as those pesky restrictions lifted, we were full steam ahead, liaising with clients and suppliers to plan chic birthday dinners, sassy soirees for brides, and memorable events for business gatherings and brand product launches, and Coral & Co. Events was put on the map.

We became one of the most sought-after go-to destinations for premium events in Melbourne and around Australia, and it became our greatest honour and privilege to be given so much trust and creative freedom from our clients.

AND WE KNOW WE CAN DO MORE…

There is a saying that goes ‘if you’re not growing, you’re dying’ and we are pleased to say that we have continued to grow from strength to strength as our business has blossomed, and our goals have become bigger and bolder with each event we touch. 

Naturally, as a business grows, so to does the desire to ensure your offering, your social media presence, and of course, your website and branding reflect your skill set to attract the clientele and work you know you are destined for.

We knew it was time to bring in a totally new look. We wanted to create a sexy, luxurious and unique colour palette and elevate the overall feel to the business. Plus we wanted to introduce a slightly more confident (but still cheeky) tone of voice that will ensure we continue to stand out as a company that delivers one-of-a-kind event planning in Melbourne. 

Doesn’t seem like too much to ask. Oh, and we figured a fancy new website wouldn’t go astray either.

So, here we are. Flashy new website ready, and the enquiries already rolling in. The universe knew this was coming… just as much as we did.

We can finally share our new look and feel for Coral & Co. Events with the world. 

This has been in the works for a few months now – because nothing this good happens overnight 😉 – and we are forever grateful to the amazing Olivia from Olive St for bringing our new web dreams to life – but more on her a little later!

From many Zoom meetings and countless notes back and forth over styling, colours, typography and layouts, we have landed on a landing page and user experience that makes our hearts sing, and our aesthetic website dreams have become our new reality.

BUT FIRST, WE HAD TO NAIL THAT COLOUR PALETTE

Before we got down to the nitty gritty, the branding had to be perfected. We are perfectionists (we wouldn’t be in this biz if we weren’t) and we had a clear idea of what this needed to feel like. The colours had to mesh and blend, and it took a few attempts to get this right.

While our classic sage green colouring and cheeky copy will forever be a part of Coral & Co., we were seeking a change that felt aligned with our new direction, and when our founder, Coral, came across the plum shade you see throughout, she knew this was it. 

This colour alone completely changed the game, delivering in spades the sexy, upmarket and chic feel she was seeking. In a playful nod to her name, you won’t be surprised to see some smatterings of coral pops throughout the place, plus that sage green as a subtle homage to the early days of the business.

No strangers to editing ideas and plans after initial conception – hello, event mood boards – we had a few design options in the mix – you can see a few below that we decided to keep and some that were not quite ‘it.’ This whole process was a fantastic opportunity to get our creative juices flowing while we had the events on pause. It also shows that creative collaboration remains one of our strong suits!

WE KNEW BOWS WERE COMING

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again – we don’t follow trends, we set them. 

Unless you’ve been off social media for the last month, you will have seen bows and ribbons taking over the beauty and fashion world. Big, beautiful bows are being clipped into hairstyles to add a cute and feminine touch, while ribbons are once again being used to dress up a ponytail or bun.

At Coral & Co., we’ve always been about bows. So it should come as no surprise that we have incorporated bows and ribbons into our website. We love the feminine and elegant touch it provides, showcasing our appreciation for beautiful details and doing things a little differently.

PREMIUM CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE

Our customers are the reason we do what we do, and a seamless user experience was our biggest priority for the website overhaul. Yes – even more important than the aesthetics, and that’s saying a lot for a team that’s obsessed with the finer Pinterest-approved details.

From the minute customers reach our landing page, with our new LOEWE-style typography and a gallery of our best work on display, the website is user-friendly and oh-so-easy to navigate.
